How i made "Pete Doherty"

To make the final image i started of with two images. The first being a scan of Pete that i did, and the second being the un-edited version of the forest background. I stared by opening the scanned drawing
I erased all around the image until only the drawing was left, this means that i can simply add the background onto the image.
Now I'm starting to get a more final image, the composition of the picture is looking better now, next i plan to change the colour of the background this will make the image stand out more which is the effect i want to achieve. I think this will be able to convey the emotion more than a black and white image.

This is the final image, i get the red/purple colour i went onto the colour balance tab in image ajustments and played around with the settings until i found the right colour, i felt the purple went well with the green tint of the scanned picture. i also added a few "leaf" brushes to add a little depth into the image
